With 16 percent of the population as active Internet users, and a similar number using the Internet on mobile, digital channels and social networking are replacing offline marketing. This momentum will allow companies to gather data for greater online presence, and thereby opening up ways for potential customers and leads to access them outside normal business hours.

Ethiopia ranks 107th in the world for mobile speeds and 140th for fixed broadband speeds according to December 2019 reports. Although Ethiopia was one of the last African nations to allow its national tele-companies a monopoly on telecom services, it can now look forward to increasing its Internet connectivity for ventures into new markets and to diversify the country’s economic status and Internet infrastructure, thus drawing investors and businesses.
